Be a part of Canadian History

The Textile Arts Guild of Richmond (TAGOR), the Richmond Media Lab, and Richmond Public Library are pleased to announce a unique commemorative project that you can contribute to!

TAGOR received a City of Richmond Canada 150 grant for a one-of-a-kind project called “Our Canadian Bookcase” in which, together with the community, expert TAGOR quilters will create a hanging quilt featuring 150 Canadian authors. All 150 authors represented in the hanging quilt will be nominated by the public. The finished hanging quilt will be a work of art, recognizing great Canadian writers and representing our community’s favourite storytellers.

Starting on March 1st, the public can nominate their favourite Canadian Kids, Teen or Adult author. The first 150 valid entries received will be included in the hanging quilt’s design. All submissions received by March 31st will be eligible for a prize draw. One randomly drawn winner from each category (Kids, Teens and Adults) will receive a handmade, limited edition gift courtesy of TAGOR and a specially chosen age-appropriate book from Richmond Public Library.

Hurry! Your favourite Canadian author needs YOU to be represented on this piece of Canadian history. One vote per person per category. Enter today!
