NVCL Local Author Series: Eve Lazarus and Sanford Osler

Eve Lazarus is a North Vancouver-based writer with a passion for old houses and an unconventional approach to history. She has written three books on popular history: Sensational Vancouver (July 2014 – view in catalogue), Sensational Victoria: bright lights, red lights, murders, ghosts & gardens, (2012 – view in catalogue), and her 2007 book At Home with History: the Untold Secrets of Greater Vancouver’s Heritage Homes (view in catalogue) was a City of Vancouver book award finalist. Sanford Osler was introduced to the canoe as a youngster at summer camp, an event that sparked a lifelong interest in the role of the canoe in our history and modern-day lives. This fascination led him to collect information on the subject over many years, meet many of the colourful characters involved with canoes and give talks about these craft to audiences across British Columbia. He is author of Canoe Crossings (view in catalogue).
