Event Details

Local or municipal governments are the closest level of government to communities. They have a significant impact on our day-to-day lives, so it’s important to know how they work! Learn how to get involved in Burnaby Public Library’s Civic Engagement Series.

Are you passionate about making your city a better place to live? Do you care about housing, transportation, and ensuring our cities are climate-resilient? Do you want to start advocating, but don’t know where to start? This workshop will cover how local government functions and how you can get involved to influence decision-makers.

Presented in partnership with Women Transforming Cities (WTC).

WTC is a registered charity that aims to radically shift social, economic and political power to equity-deserving groups to reshape who cities are built by and for so that communities’ needs are met and everyone can belong, participate and thrive.
