Canada’s allure as a prime destination for immigrants continues to grow, with the country’s goal to welcome 395,000 new permanent residents in 2025.

Although this quota has been reduced from 500,000, it still offers fair chances to get Canadian permanent residency in 2025.

The NewToBC Library Champions Project is a unique volunteer program designed for newcomers who want to learn more about their local library and share that knowledge with others in their community. Through training and support, Library Champions build communication and outreach skills while discovering the many services libraries and community organizations offer. Many participants also gain valuable volunteer experience and confidence along the way. Library Champions are volunteers with the @rplbc and @surreylibraries. They are trained about library and settlement resources, supports, and programs. As part of the training, they learn how to share this information with other new immigrants.
