When the building opened in 2008 it won awards for its sustainable architecture. The library offers 36,000 square feet of collections and services.
Features:
The library features an 800 square foot café, ‘The Terrace’ outdoor reading room, ‘Children’s Reading Garden’ outdoor reading room for children with ouchless floor, ‘The Room’ for teens, public art displays, public computers, printer, photocopier, and Wi-Fi. The building is accessible.
Location:
Located in City of North Vancouver civic complex, close to Lonsdale commercial area, close to transportation route (Lonsdale Avenue), close to Lions Gate Hospital. The library is accessible by public transit (see Translink).

Interesting Tips:
- The library building won a 2009 BC Lieutenant Governor Award and a 2009 BCLA Library Merit Award for it’s architecture.
- ’The Terrace’ outdoor reading room offers views of the Lions Gate Bridge.
- The library runs a Small Grants program to promote cross-cultural connection among North Vancouver City residents.
