Attention budding illustrators and artists: come meet and create with Meneka Repka, this year’s BC Summer Reading Club artist!
In this workshop, Meneka will share what it’s like to be a book illustrator. We’ll hear about Meneka’s process when illustrating a picture book from start to finish, and learn about different types of illustrations, thumbnailing, and character development.
We’ll also get a sneak peak of Meneka’s upcoming illustrated book, ‘The Mango Monster’ (written by Derek Mascarenhas) – and then make our own monster bookmarks!
This program is open to children ages 8-12. Parents/guardians are welcome to participate if they’d like – if not, they must stay in the library during the program.
