Two Langley programs benefit from provincial literacy funds

Adult literacy in Langley is getting a boost with funds from the provincial government.

The money will increase access for more learners to improve reading, writing, math, and digital skills.

The Langley School District Foundation is receiving funding for two programs, including Community One-on-One Learning (COOL), and Talk with Me, Play with Me, Learn with Me, a program in which parents foster literacy in their children through various activities.

“Langley’s adult learning programs enrich the lives of newcomer families and other adult learners in Langley providing support, opportunity for connection, improved career opportunities, and better health outcomes,” said Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East. “Funding for programs such as COOL and Talk with Me, Play with Me, Learn with Me provides essential support and enhances the strength and resiliency of our community.”
